Bowel Cancer Community Education Grants 2012

June is bowel cancer awareness month.  In 2012, you can help the Cancer Council WA get some simple messages about bowel cancer to your community using a Bowel Cancer Community Education Grant.

Bowel Cancer Community Education Grants are available to help raise awareness of bowel cancer, the importance of bowel cancer prevention, early detection and screening in an informal and welcoming environment.

The $150 grants will assist organisations, clubs and community groups to hold a Bowel Cancer Education Event in their community.

Metropolitan, regional and rural community groups for over 50s, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) groups, culturally and linguistically diverse groups and health agencies are encouraged to apply.

More information and application forms will be available on-line in early 2012.

The Bowel Cancer Community Education Grants are proudly supported by the Brigid Anne Milner and Cecilia Marie West Endowment Trust established by the generous bequest of the late George Henry Milner.

If you would like more information about any aspect of the grant program please contact the Cancer Smart Project Officer on (08) 9388 4388.

Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Education Grants 2011

October is breast cancer awareness month.

The aim of these grants is to raise awareness of how to reduce the risk of breast cancer, early detection and screening in a familiar community environment. By hosting an education event in your community in October 2011 (Pink Ribbon Day is Monday 24 October 2011) you are helping the Cancer Council inform our community.

The Cancer Council has provided Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Education grants for over 10 years to the Western Australian community.  We are proud that these grants reach communities in all parts of our state from Derby to Ravensthorpe and reach many women that would not otherwise have the opportunity to hear important and up-to-date breast cancer information.

To apply for a Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Community Education grant please complete the grant application form and return the application by Friday 9 September 2011.

Grant money may be used to provide a healthy morning or afternoon tea for event guests.  Successful grant applicants will be provided with a number of resources, information brochures to assist in running the event.

If you would like more information on the grant program please contact the Cancer Smart Project Officer on (08) 9388 4388.
