Tom and Vanessa Falloon on their wedding day

Tom and Vanessa's Wedding

"When Vanessa and I decided to get married in April 2011, we decided to think outside the box.

A request was made, with the help of Cancer Council, for guests to make a donation to Cancer Council WA in lieu of presents.

In March 2010, after 50 years of marriage, I lost my lovely wife, Ray, to ovarian cancer. Vanessa had also lost her Mother to cancer just some months previous, so the cause was close to both our hearts and helped us both in our healing.'" - Tom Falloon

Rose's 21st birthday fundraiser

Rose's 21st Birthday

"Deciding to donate to Cancer Council WA in lieu of gifts at my 21st Birthday was one of the easiest decisions I've ever made.

My party was held in honour of my aunty, who recently passed away from cancer.

The night was great fun and highly successful as a fundraiser; guests also donated a gold coin on entrance.

I'd encourage anyone wondering how they can contribute to the fight against cancer to do the same." - Rose Mark
