Fundraising Events

Volunteer assistance is required at our major fundraising events:

  • Daffodil Day
  • Pink Ribbon Day
  • HBF Run for a Reason
  • Dig Deep Game Day
  • Relay For Life

Many thousands of volunteers get involved in our events by selling merchandise and collecting donations at the Daffodil Day and Pink Ribbon Day street appeals, coordinating merchandise sites in metropolitan and regional shopping centres, assisting at the HBF Run for a Reason and selling merchandise at the Dig Deep Game Day. Volunteer assistance is also required at the many Relay For Life events throughout Western Australia.

Volunteers - HBF Run for a Reason

Cancer Council WA now calling for volunteers for its first major fundraising event for 2012 – HBF Run for a Reason 27 May 2012.

Cancer Council WA relies on community support to fund its vital work – to minimise the incidence and impact of cancer on our community through advocacy, research, education and by providing people affected by cancer with support to enhance their quality of life.

One avenue of community support is via teams and individuals entering events such as HBF Run for a Reason to fundraise for Cancer Council so that our essential work can continue. But they need our support to be able to participate… and that’s why we’re calling for volunteer support for the event!

After a scorching start to the year, imagine a fresh, Perth, May morning with like-minded people, supporting and cheering on runners. It is a slightly early start for a Sunday – but it’s such a worthy cause and imagine how good we’ll feel! Just four or five hours out of your Sunday will make a real difference.

There are two volunteer roles on offer – Aid Station Attendants and Course Marshals - and we require over 50 volunteers to continue the proven fundraising success of this event.

Don’t delay - join Cancer Council staff and volunteer with us to support the HBF Run for a Reason event and directly support the teams and individuals who have entered the event to raise funds for Cancer Council WA.
