Everybody Knows
The ‘Everybody Knows’ campaign, first launched in January 2009, highlighted the well-known health effects of smoking as well as reassured smokers that there is support available to help them quit.
The television advertisement, originally developed by Cancer Institute NSW in 2008, featured a montage of well-known, smoking-related disease images taken from Australian anti-tobacco campaigns from the past decade. It focused on what everybody knows, but what some smokers still ignore. The minute-long advertisement finished with recognition that quitting smoking can be hard but help is available to break the habit once and for all.
Press advertising complemented the television advertisement.
