Information kits

The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, in consultation with the Australian Divisions of General Practice and other professional bodies, has developed a GP Information Kit.

In the Perth metropolitan area, one GP Information Kit was sent to each Practice Incentive Payment (PIP) registered practice in 2007. In regional areas, one GP Information Kit was sent to each GP. In addition, Information Kits were also sent to colonoscopy clinics and histopathology laboratories. If you are a GP and have not received a GP Information Kit, please order one by calling 1800 118 868.

The GP Information Kit contains:

• National Bowel Cancer Screening Program Information booklet.
• National Bowel Cancer Screening Program Information for General Practitioners (includes the Program screening pathway and duty of care)
• A consultation flip chart.
• NHMRC Clinical Practice Guidelines for the prevention, early detection and management of colorectal cancer: A guide for general practitioners, 2nd edition, 2006.
• ACN Familial aspects of bowel cancer: A guide for health professionals, 2nd edition, 2006.
• A pad of Assessment forms
• A Payment Account Details for Service Provider Form
• Participant stickers
• Postage paid address labels
