Play Therapy Clinical Training Scholarship
In partnership with Play Therapy Australia, Cancer Council WA is offering two $5000 scholarships for qualified health professionals to undertake the intensive Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy course in 2012 to enhance the number of specialist counsellors available in WA to better support children and families affected by cancer.
About the Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy Course:
Offered by Play Therapy Australia this Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy is offered to health professionals with a mental health qualification in a field such as counselling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy or art therapy who have registration or licensing with a relevant professional body or board. How do I know if I am eligible?
To be eligible for a Play Therapy Scholarship applicants must:
- Have gained entry into the Play Therapy Australia Clinical Training Program in the Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy course 2012
- Be in private practice or working towards it
- Have a strong interest in working with children and families affected by cancer and
- Be willing to provide up to two years’ service to Cancer Council WA as a specialist Play Therapy Counsellor for the Cancer Counselling Network (fee for service)

McLarty Palliative Care Scholarships
The McLarty Palliative Care Scholarships (pdf, 96kb) are open to Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals working or interested in Palliative Care. Scholarships are awarded to nurses and allied health staff who seek to complete a Post Graduate Certificate, Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Palliative Care or a relevant field.

Lymphoedema Training Scholarships
Applications are now open for eligible Health Professionals to attend an Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) accredited training course (pdf, 64kb) in Hornsby NSW (20 to 27 March 2012) or Brisbane QLD (November 2012; dates TBA).
Scholarships are available to practicing health professionals who have a proven interest in lymphoedema management. The scholarships are intended to benefit the wider community by increasing the number of competent practitioners within Western Australia. Scholarships will cover costs of registration, air and taxi fares and accommodation.
