Call Cancer Council 13 11 20

  • Calling our 13 11 20 information and support line connects you to our Cancer Nurses. They can provide anyone affected by cancer with confidential, accurate information and support on any cancer-related concerns. Our Cancer Nurses can also inform you of statewide services and programs.
  • You can call from anywhere in WA for the cost of a local call (except from mobiles).
  • We are open Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm, except for public holidays when we are closed.
  • If calling outside of business hours, you can leave a message and we will call you back the next business day. If you would prefer, you can email us or you can request a callback. We will try to call you during the next work day between 9am and 5pm, a preferred time within these hours can be requested.
  • If you require an interpreter please contact the National Translating and Interpreting Service on 13 14 50 during business hours and ask for Cancer Council 13 11 20.
  • If  you are deaf, hard of hearing and/or have a speech impairment to communicate with voice callers please contact the National Relay Service on 13 36 77 and ask for Cancer Council 13 11 20.
  • If you need emergency assistance, please call Lifeline (13 11 14), Crisis Care (9223 1111), Samaritans (9381 5555), or healthdirect 1800 022 22.

Regional Cancer Support Coordinators

You can call 13 11 20 to find your nearest Cancer Support Coordinator.

Our Regional Cancer Support Coordinators seek to reduce the impact of cancer by providing assistance and support to anyone who is affected by a cancer diagnosis. Your Cancer Support Coordinator understands the complexity of cancer treatment and recovery, they provide you with:

  • Quality information about your cancer or cancer treatment.
  • Appropriate emotional support that can help you, your family members and friends to cope better with your cancer.
  • Information about transport to treatment, which is available in some areas and suitable accommodation for eligible patients if you live a long way from your treatment centre. 
  • Information about services which may be in your local community to help with practical things like cleaning, gardening and childcare. Also for eligible patients and in some areas transport if you are unwell or have to go to Perth for treatment.

Regional Education Officers

Our network of Regional Education Officers (REOs), located in major regional centres throughout the State, ensures that cancer prevention and early detection messages are delivered across WA. They work closely with various community groups to raise awareness about strategies that prevent and detect cancer in its early stages. Your REO:

  • Works with other local agencies to promote healthy lifestyle choices and improve cancer prevention through systematic changes in policy and practice (capacity building)
  • Delivers a range of seminars and workshops on cancer prevention and early detection at a range of community settings including schools and workplaces
  • Facilitates delivery of professional education sessions on cancer-related issues for general practitioners, health promotion professionals and allied health workers
  • Provides access to our range of cancer prevention information and educational resources
