Lung cancer is the fifth most common cancer in Western Australia with 12000 people diagnosed in 2017. It remains the most common cause of cancer-related death for both males and females, killing one in 44 males and one in 60 females before the age of 75.
Although survival rates are low (with a five year survival rate of 14%), recent advances in lung cancer screening, early detection and treatment options are expected to contribute to improvements in survival rates.
This is a free education session that will provide an informative and relevant update for GPs on lung cancer, with presentations from specialists on a range of topics.
