In conjunction with National Palliative Care Week 2019, we invite you to this introductory-level session which touches on the key concepts relevant to the delivery of high quality palliative care in your care setting.
Palliative care knowledge is beneficial for all health professionals across all settings due to the increase in the demand for palliative care services across Australia and the increase in likelihood of coming into contact with a patient in need of palliative support. This growing demand is a result of the nation’s ageing population and high burden of chronic disease in older age groups.
This workshop is appropriate for all health professionals and senior health care professionals with an interest in integrating a palliative approach into their practice and the practice of their team members based on the latest evidence, resources and toolkits in the field.
- What is a palliative approach?
- Myths surrounding palliative care
- Tools and resources for implementing a palliative approach
