Armadale resident Levi Kissick-Ponga is raising $1 for Cancer Council WA for every burpee he can perform at a special event ahead of this year's HBF Run for a Reason.
The 28-year-old gym trainer will be aiming to hit more than 2000 burpees on May 5th during a ladies night at 24/7 Power Fitness in Maddington, where he works as a trainer.
Levi said a number of his family, including his brother, aunty and grandfather, had been affected by cancer and were the main reason for supporting Cancer Council WA as part of his HBF Run for a Reason fundraising efforts in 2016.
"It is a bit of a tribute to my family," he said.
"I have been wanting to do something like this and it has been on my bucket list for a while."
A number of other trainers and supporters have said they'd join Levi in undertaking the mammoth effort, giving him some encouragement along the way.
"It is a good exercise and you are guaranteed to have a good sweat," he said.
"I will just chuck my headphones on and go for it."
