Cancer Council WA launches Ultimate Lifestyle Lottery

Wednesday, 30 March 2016

Cancer Council Western Australia has launched its first ever ‘Ultimate Lifestyle Lottery’ with the major prize of a stunning, fully furnished  $1.59 million penthouse apartment at Taskers in North Fremantle plus a BMW X1 and $20,000 cash, and a 1 in 15 chance to win one of the 6,670 prizes on offer.

Cancer Council WA CEO Susan Rooney said the lottery is an exciting new venture which will help Cancer Council increase its reach and impact in the West Australian community.

“There are more people living longer with cancer and more people being diagnosed with cancer, which means there is a growing demand for Cancer Council services,” Ms Rooney said.

“The proceeds from the lottery will allow us to continue to grow our services so we can be there for all West Australians affected by cancer when they need us, at every stage of their cancer journey. The funds raised will also allow us to continue to grow our investment in world class cancer research leading to improved quality of care and access to cutting edge treatment and ultimately bringing us closer to the day when we can live in a cancer-free world.”

Western Australian icons Monika Kos and Mike Hussey have thrown their support behind the Ultimate Lifestyle Lottery.

Ms Kos said the lottery offers people the chance to win the ultimate lifestyle and do something worthwhile at the same time.

“I’m proud to support Cancer Council WA’s new Ultimate Lifestyle Lottery.  By buying a ticket you’ll have a chance to change your life and help beat cancer,” Ms Kos said.

Mike Hussey said he was keen to lend his support to Cancer Council WA’s new lottery, as he like thousands of other Western Australians has witnessed the impact of cancer amongst family and friends.

Cancer Council WA is the state’s leading cancer charity and is reliant on community donations to help people affected by every type of cancer and working across all aspects of cancer control – research, prevention and education programs, and support services for those affected.

In 2015, Cancer Council WA committed $3.8 million of funding to support WA’s top cancer researchers, and the 13 11 20 cancer information and support line took nearly 11,500 calls.

Tickets are available at www.ultimatelifestylelottery.com.au and the 6,670 prizes include luxury vehicles, exclusive overseas and local getaways, high end entertainment systems, and premium home appliances. Ticket sales close at 11pm, Wednesday July 27.
