Finances should be the last thing on your mind when dealing with cancer, but unfortunately for too many it can become a major source of stress.
Our upcoming free info session focuses on how to deal with cancer changing your financial plans. Our speaker, Nada Maticevic, who is a Private Wealth Adviser, will discuss how to manage your finances, how to maximise your income going forward, and where to look for help. Nada will also talk about setting a budget, managing debts, and accessing Centrelink, superannuation and insurance benefits.
Our Pro Bono program will also be discussed at the information session. The program offers cancer patients access to free legal, financial, small business accounting and workplace advice and support.
The services through this program range from accessing superannuation and insurance to advising on credit and debt matters, drafting wills and assisting with workplace issues such as leave entitlements, how to manage a diagnosis at work and much more.
Our Director of Cancer Information and Support Services, Sandy McKiernan, said we’ve been able to help 1,855 WA clients access the free financial, legal small business accounting and workplace support since our program began.
“This program can make a huge difference to people affected by cancer and we are so grateful for the ongoing support of the professionals who make this program possible”.
“This is one of the important ways we aim to ease the stress of cancer and we encourage anyone with financial concerns to come along to the information session on Monday,” Sandy said.
