For the past 19 years, the year 6 students at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School in Beechboro have participated in a head shave fundraiser - raising over $100,000 for CCWA!
Last Wednesday, the school celebrated the 20th anniversary of the event, with 12 students and two teachers taking part in the 'Me No Hair 2016' head shave.
Simon Brodie, the teacher who started the school tradition 20 years ago when a student was undergoing cancer treatment continues to organise the event to this day. The fundraiser was of particular significance this year as the school sadly lost a year 2 student to cancer in 2015.
Through their Do It For Cancer fundraising page the 2016 head shave has already raised an incredible $3,260 towards their $5000 goal. If you would like make a donation you can do so here.

Do It For Cancer is our online community fundraising platform that makes fundraising for us in any way you like really easy! To get started, simply pick a fundraising idea, register your event on our Do It For Cancer website and set up your fundraising page!
Some people like to shave their heads, some challenge themselves to an ocean swim and some ask for donations instead of gifts for occasions like birthdays. Whatever you choose, just know that the money you raise goes towards our research, prevention and support services that help support all West Aussies affected by cancer.
