HBF Run for a Reason 2017

Last Sunday’s glorious weather was perfect for the 36,000 participants who took part in HBF’s Run for a Reason, on May 28. We were lucky enough to have over 200 participants actively fundraising for us, raising an incredible $143,000 to help us continue supporting West Australians affected by cancer.

Cheering the runners on was our wonderful cheer squad accompanied by talented DJs on the decks to provide music and moral support as participants passed the Cancer Council tent. It was amazing to see the participants faces light up when they caught sight of the giant dancing Daffodil.

Our Community Ambassador, Peter Symonds surpassed his target of $10,000 and completed the 12km course just a week after receiving his last round of treatment.

“I crossed the finish line exhausted and had a bit of a cry as it makes you realise the journey you have been on, today I feel a great sense of achievement and are just grateful I could help,” Peter said.
