National Volunteer Week (NVW) which runs from the 8-14 of May this year, is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation's volunteers.

This year, the theme of National Volunteer week is a positive message of ‘Give Happy, Live Happy!

Increasingly, volunteering is being understood as one of the enduring social, cultural and economic values of our society and NVW is a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to the extraordinary contribution of volunteers across the nation, and especially those who volunteer with us and help us in our mission to reduce the impact and incidence of cancer in WA.

In the 15/16 financial year 1960 volunteers contributed 84,527 hours across all areas of our work. We simply couldn’t do what we do without them.

To celebrate our incredible volunteers and the huge role they play in helping us continue to support West Aussies affected by cancer we will be introducing you to some of our amazing volunteers each day this week – stay tuned!
