Our Life Now program offers free exercise and meditative courses for cancer patients and their carers at many locations across Perth and some regional areas.
Life Now is based on research which links regular exercise and stress-reduction programs to reduced treatment-related side effects and improved general well-being for people with cancer during and after treatment.
Being active can help:
- manage some of the common side effects of treatment,
- speed up recovery,
- improve your quality of life,
- improve how you respond to treatment (for some cancer types),
- reduce the risk of the cancer coming back (for some cancer types).
Life Now Exercise courses are open to people who have been diagnosed with cancer within the last two years, are undergoing treatment, or have completed treatment within the last two years and are delivered by experienced facilitators.
Registrations for Term 1 courses now open!
Last year, 1231 people registered to participate in 67 Life Now programs across the state. We anticipate 2020 to be even bigger, with more courses on offer in areas such as Balga, Bentley, Bunbury, Clarkson, Floreat, Midland, North Perth and more!

Life Now Exercise participant, Helen Moffat, attributes her improved strength and mobility to the program.
"I am so amazed at what I have achieved in mobility and strength and how it took away the pain I had in my joints. I am determined to keep it going to improve my chances of not letting cancer come back into my body forever," she said.
Life Now courses are free of charge for people affected by cancer and their primary carers, thanks to generous community donations.
