Cancer Council Western Australia PhD Top Up Scholarship

Our PhD Top Up Scholarships are awarded to applicants who have outstanding track records in academic achievement, and the potential to pursue full-time PhD studies in cancer-related research. Research projects can be in the fields of laboratory, clinical, epidemiological, psycho-social and / or behavioural science. Applicants must already hold a Commonwealth Government Australian Postgraduate Award (or equivalent), and the PhD Top Up Scholarship adds to this award


Applications for research funding commencing in 2018 has now CLOSED

Closing date: 4pm, Tuesday 31st October 2017

PhD Top Up scholarships are awarded to highly ranked PhD students with a Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend or equivalent.  The amount offered is up to $36,000 for up to 3 years full-time, with a maximum payable rate of $12,000 per annum.

It is important to note that the university funding available to PhD students will be taken in to consideration by our Pre-doctoral Grants Advisory Subcommittee when allocating the available funding. This may impact on the top up amount allocated to individual PhD students.

The Cancer Council Western Australia PhD Top Up Scholarships are offered to students with an outstanding track record in academic achievement and research potential to pursue full-time PhD studies in Western Australia in cancer-related research.  Research projects can be in the fields of laboratory, clinical, epidemiological, psychosocial and/or behavioural science.

HOW TO APPLY

Please follow the guidelines outlined in the PhD Top Up Scholarship Guide to Applicants(47 KB) and complete the Application Form (111 KB)

Progress and Final Report template(99kb) - all recipients are required to submit a final report within 3 months of the completion of thePhD.
