Cancer Council WA education sessions

Our trained staff can deliver education sessions on a wide range of cancer topics, including cancer prevention, screening and early detection, common cancers affecting men and women, what can be done to reduce the risk of cancer, general cancer information and the work of our organisation.

*Note: This fee may be negotiable for small businesses, not for profit organisations, and for multiple sessions.  Fees may also apply for travel outside the metropolitan area.  A number of brochures, fact sheets and posters may be provided free of charge, however, larger numbers may attract a cost.

Bowel cancer is the number 2 cancer killer in Australia, yet most people aren't screening for it. If your organisation has employees over the age of 45 years you should consider booking a bowel screening talk.

Talks can be tailored to various durations and includes information on what is bowel cancer, why and how to screen and the Government's funded screening program National Bowel Cancer Screening Program. Follow the instructions below to book a talk.

Session length

Most sessions range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the topic and your requirements. Childhood nutrition talks run for 1 to 2 hours.

Minimum numbers

Generally, a minimum group of 15 is required. If you have a smaller group, please contact us to discuss possible solutions.

The Resource Officer will try to match a speaker to suit your organisation and your requested day and time. This cannot be guaranteed. Please give us at least two weeks notice to arrange a speaker.
